Definitions
Maker: Order processing rate of the liquidity provider (orders are placed to enter the order book to deepen the market depth, such as limit orders)
Taker: Order processing rate of the liquidity extractor (orders are closed immediately to digest the market depth, such as market orders)
For example:
How to calculate the service charge on USDT contracts?
Service charge = Contract value * Rate
Contract value = Contract quantity x Trading price
Buy 1 BTC BTCUSDT perpetual contracts with market orders:
Contract value = Contract quantity x Opening price
= 1 BTC x 10,000
= 10,000
Service charge payable by the Taker: 10,000 x 0.06% = 6 USDT
After the price rises, sell 1 BTC BTCUSD perpetual contracts with limit orders:
Contract value = Contract quantity x Closing price
= 1 BTC x 11,000
= 11,000
Service charge payable by the Maker: 11,000 x 0.02% = 2.2 USDT
